Someone recommended the 3700+ to me, and it seems people are OC'ing them up to 2.7Ghz.
Someone else had a grudge against ASUS and told me to look at DFI Lanparty UT NF-4 motherboard. Anyone know anything about it, or DFI mobos in general?
I just aquired an Athlon XP 3000+ & ASUS A7N8x-E Deluxe in a trade that I'm going to use to build another system.

I know, that's exactly what I said. I can only assume he was talking about one of their $200 SLI boards because he went on to say it had 4 SATA-2 slots and two Gigabit NICs. I'm not very interested in SLI, and don't want to pay that much.

please for the sake of GOD don't buy Dell Laptop. They are piece of Crap. i have one sitting at my house all f***ed up. Probably didn't even used for 40 total hours in a year. It was working ok for maybe a year then as soon as my warranty expires things started going bad. For some reason even the keys are coming off. If i was in the market for a laptop, i would deff. look at Sony, then HP.
"where do you guys buy your parts from?
I am going to make some purchases a little later today
it will be my first time
I was going to use pricewatch.com
is there anything I need to watch out for?"
I don't use pricewatch because some of the very cheap vendors are not good. Slow delivery, poor return policies, big shipping/handling charges, etc. www.resellerratings.com will give you info, but....
That's a lot of work. I just go newegg for most things they carry. Their prices are always decent, I've rarely had a problem, and when I did they took care of it promtply.

I guess you don't know what you're doing then. I;ve had my Dell laptop ( bought of e-bay even) for almost a year, and haven't had an issue w/it. It's on everyday as my 4yr son uses it w/o fudging it up.
