one of my cars had an engine electrical fire, while unattended, and freaking exploded!!! waaaa
any way its kelly bb value is 4,515, and i just put 1300 in engine work and a new headliner in , with in the last 4 months.
insurance offered me 4100, minus my 500$ deductable equaling 3600.
should i take it? can i fight for more, would that even be worth while??
I'd be looking at the person that installed your new engine if you just had an underhood electrical fire...

take it and use ur right to be the first one to buy it back at slavage price which is like 13 to 17 % the bb value of the car..... buy another f body and use that one as parts or part it out on eBay.... not that I have ever done that b4 :)

there is nothing salvageable on the car at all, there was dash and window all over food lion parking lot!!!!
metal/frame is warped panels are are fecked, plastic is puddlesall thats left is rime and a shell. i was literally sick to my stomach when i heard, my fam. did want to tell me when in was deployed. so can i get any more then blue book???
Tell them to try a little harder, tell them how much you want for the car, they'll call you back and offer you a higher number. Just don't get carried away. They offered my 3k for my 94 Bird, ended up settling for 4300.

There are laws against this depending on the year of the vehicle. Something about the government not wanting wrecked cars to be rebuilt and resold. Like that stops some garages from doing it anyways. :rolleyes: But seriously, how long ago was this engine installed? I would go after the garage that did the work.

They run an evaluation on your vehicle to see what the vehicle is worth in your area and then give you the settlement amount. If you refuse it, then it means you are retaining salvage title. KBB that is available to the public is much more general than what the insurance uses. Take the money and apply it to something else.
