It's kinda in a field that I want to be in. It's for school photographer. I want to be videographer, which is basically the same thing.
My wife works for lifetouch, and they are in desperate need of photographers. They're severely shorthanded.
The pros: a much better company to work for. Awesome benefits, awesome retirement plan, very flexible, a foot in the door for a good industry to be in, and it'd be something I'd enjoy doing.
Cons: Major pay cut my hourly rate. I'd go from 12/hr to around between 8.50-10/hr, but I would be working 50-60hr weeks. Also, the health benefits are better, so I would also be paying less for healthcare. So in the end I would probably be making the same amount. The worst part is also seasonal, so I would only be working 8-9 months out of the year. So even though I would be making the same per week, I'd be working 3-4 months less. This is also a double wammy, because I'm working the same job as my wife, we'd both be out of work 3-4 months out of the year.
