Long story short, I left my keys in my door when I was carrying in some stuff and now they are gone.

Do I just give a dealer the VIN and they can make me a new one? How much will I have to pay?

I believe so 2 years ago when I need a new set of keys the ignition key was 80 bucks because of that gay lil chip thing in it. But shouldn't you be more worried about some one coming back and taking the car?

Yeah I'm a bit concerned about that but I need to drive ASAP. I'm not 100% sure I left it in my door but I tore my apartment apart and cant find them in here. They've had a day to steal it but havnt. I'm moving out of this ****hole soon. People around my area make me sick. I also need to get my apartment locks changed

I just called a GM dealer and they couldnt give me a straight answer on price over the phone

That sucks. Sorry to hear that happened. I know the keys are pretty pricey because when I got my Camaro, it only had 1 set so my mom went to the service or parts dept and got a spare set made, however, she was fortunate to get the keys for free since she knew everyone at the dealer at the time

Well, the last time that I had a set of keys made, it came to just under $30 for both (the door key being a cheap one without the black plastic on the end). Sucks that you can't find your keys though

Yep, showed parts department my registration and it came out to $42 for an ignition/door. I have an autolock and driveway patrol that will come in handy. Thanks

My key broke a few days ago so I went to a dealer ship and they replaced it for $40(same as the original key).
