Perhaps I am a heartless bastard, but please remember I do not wish death upon anyone.

I do feel, however, that he should've known better than to drive while drinking, espcecially while excessing 100 mph. No offense, but that's stupidity, and when it comes to motor vehicles, stupidity has no room.

I wish his and your family the best for the future; you're not much older than I am, I'm only seventeen, and I've never been in so traumatic an event.

I do think that he got what was coming to him though. A drunk driver killed my Uncle in 1988...a teenager at that fleeing from the police. The police did not follow procedure and turn their sirens or flashers on to be "sneaky", and the kid saw them, panicked, and side swiped my uncle's Bronco, killing him instantly, all because the police forgot to follow procedure..

It sucks.

No offense, but I think you should be blaming the drunk punk instead of the police.

Anyways back to the topic... happy to see you and your cousin pull through this. Especially with family, things like this bring you guys closer than anything else, and it'll never be the same. You'll look back in a year and be able to look at this event in a positive life, becuase it made you all closer than you could have possibly been w/o it.

Can I have your air filter?
.
.
.
JK. That was a life changing for you I bet. I'm sure you are looking at things a little differently now. I have always believed things happen for a reason and sometimes we don't understand the reasoning because we never see the alternative to an event like yours. Maybe your car was hit because there was a van full of kids just down the road who would not have servived a crash like that. Or maybe you had a plans for somethings that day that would have guided your life in the wrong direction. Like said before, it was not your time.

Bottom line, thank God you and your family are OK.

thanks everyone for the repsonses, they made my day:). now about the air filter and any other part of the car, insurance said i cannot sell one thing.
but i have a 2000 ws6 t/a that is waiting to be stripped, i would like to keep the drivetrain, front and rear suspension, and dash. everything else i will be selling. the driver side subframe is bent, and the fender is cracked, and there is minor damage to the door. other then that its in perfect condition. i will be posting pics in the parts for sale forum here, and on ls1.com, when i feel up to it.

Damn, you both are lucky to be alright. Hope you both feel better soon. That's a crazy story about the guy driving the other car.

How badly wrecked is the T/A? Couldn't you just fix it up?

Glad you are OK. Modern engineering science is quite advanced and science kept you safe.

Too bad the drunk driver was killed, maybe he just needed a little bit of direction to help him out. Certainly, he didn't deserve to die. It is easy to be mad at him for putting other people's life in jeopardy and to say he got what is coming to him. However, maybe he could have been a better person given the chance. To bad his decisions prevented himself from getting that chance. :(

the t/a has alot of frame damage, the t-tops don't fit because the frame is slightly out of shape and the windshield is shattered. i will be taking pics today.
if i was to be hit directly on the passenger side door, i think the car would have been torn in two, and we both would be dead. f-bodies are only safe in front and rear collisions, if your hit on the side you will probably get hurt really bad or die.
the amazing thing is the door skin came off the passenger side door but the window did not break.
thanks again for your replies everyone, it lets me know people out there care.

I f'n hate drunks. They need drinks to lighten them up and do stuff. Parties, walking around, driving, anything, they're usually a mess. I dont see why this stupid Truth.com goes after Tobacco companies, why not alcohol companies. Im not saying prohibition or anything but they gotta do something better than there doing now.

Maybe look on the bright side. Lawyer/insurance/sueing them, get a nice Z06

At least his fiancee wasn't hurt either. That would have made it worse in my eyes. Killing yourself is one thing, but intentionally taking other people with you is a whole different thing.

On a lighter note, does your ta have leather?
