bmw will prob outlast that volvo by about 3 years, before 100k miles on that volvo look to replace the water pump, 75% chance of fuel pump, expect electrical problems mainly with the speedo and instruments. plus whatever little things pop up

Out of those 2 the Volvo due to mileage, although given the choice at the same mileage I'd take the BMW.

Volvo. My pops has a 240 that still runs like a tank ('91). He has had to replace a few minor parts (power antannae, radio, speakers, shocks), but nothing out of regular maintenance.

The only Volvo I would ever own is the 850R. Those things looked badass.
