• NEW JOB

Not that I haven't enjoyed sleeping till noon everyday, but I'm really glad to be going back to work. I was getting quite bored of sitting here all day.

So my new job is in Evansville, IN, so I'll be there for a couple months then off to another project.
So new job pays $225 per day, $25 food per diem, .375 cents per mile, and hotel paid for. Bad news is it's 6 hours from home, so I won't be coming home as often as my last couple projects.

So anyone in Indiana....

Um, no I am not a truck driver. Although it would be cool to have one of those big rigs to drive around.

I am a landman. I work for oil & gas companies doing leasing, right-of-ways, mineral title searches, and negotiate damages. But, mostly I work and maintain relations with land owners, while negotiating for the acquistion of leases/right-of-ways. Also once operations takes over and starts drilling if there are problems and someone gets upset I am the person sent out to fix the problem. (read: something over to avoid lawsuit) Projects can last a couple months to years. So far I've worked in WV, KY, PA, AR, and now IN/KY.

First day of new job went pretty good. My boss seems cool. Henderson, Ky/Evansville, IN seems like it will be ok place to live. One thing is for sure ciggs are cheap here. $2.97 pack of marlboro, alot better than $4.20 a pack in PA.

.375 cents per mile? So just over a penny for 3 miles... is that even worth it?

It's a lot better than my job in any case! How long were you without?

oh my bad 37.5 cents per mile. 100 miles $37.50. It adds up really quick. I drive about 100 miles a day.

Does anyone know if there's anything to do over here??? I've only been ove to Evansville once. I had to get some buisness cards printed up, and copies. I'm across the river in Henderson, it's kinda small, but Evansville seems to be decent sized.

Umm, watch the corn grow? Maybe they have a good quilting bee?

I hear Evansville is the power-napping capital of the US.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
