i have a mossberg model 88 mavkerick 12 gauge pump.
i was cleaning it with a wool pad down the barrel and cloth wipes(cleaning kit)
do i have to oil up the action? every other gun cleaning kit ive boughten has had the gun oil in it but this doesnt have any liquids.
also how should i go about cleaning the action? i just wiped everything down primarily. thanks
The confusion surrounds me
change is imminent
if I were they
we could be great
You'll need the solvent to dissolve the carbon fouling from the burnt gun powder, but it's not as big of a deal since your barrel doesn't have any rifling.
Any gun solvent/barrel cleaner, and gun lube, will work.
Ive never broked down a mossberg. But with my Ithaca usually, if I havent shot it a lot, or Im carrying a gun regularly during hunting season, I just scrub out the barrel and wipe down everything with an oiled rag. I break the gun down at the end of the season for a full cleaning, or if Ive had a good day and shot it A LOT, or the weather was really bad and the action gets gunked up.
