• Looking for some fast help with cheapest new car

My grandmother has had horrible luck with cars
she has been through a few old escorts and such and my mom wants to buy her a new car
she suggested a cavalier (cobalt now I guess)
I suggested a kia (100,000 mile warranty)
its for a grandma, so who cares if it looks like a grandma car ;)
what I am wondering, is there anything cheaper than a Kia Rio right now brand new on the market
is the Rio an ok car?
we added an auto tranny and AC to the car which brought it up to a little over 12,000
can that be beat?
100,000 mile warranty plays a big part also
we are buying it ASAP
so any help is appreciated,
thanks!

yeah I seen the aveo, the only sway factor is warranty
36,000 vs 100,000
maybe worth it idk
but with employee pricing, aveo prob be even cheaper, but them cheap cars dont get as much of a discount

DO NOT buy a kia, their suspension parts rust out after about 20k miles, and is a real pain in the a$$ to constantly get fixed.

kias have a warranty, but your *** will be getting towed daily. They are POS from everything I have seen. Same with alot of Hyundais.

Cobalts are good cars. My brother has a Cobalt LS Coupe fully loaded, nice *** ride for an econobox. VERY nice. It gets my approval. And this is from a Honda technician - don't buy a Honda.

right now we have two choices
mom works at GM so she gets GMS
so the aveo is an option, and it does have a 60,000 mile warranty
the kia rio is the other option
and yes i agree the aveo is butt ugly, but if you had no car and someone was offering a free one...
so kia rio and aveo
unless someone knows of another 10,000 or less new car!

and a lot more dealerships for warranty work if needed.

kia has one of the worst vehicle ratings of any manufacturer...not sure on the aveo price..but if you can get it cheaper...figure adding on more warranty and see if it's comparable or better still than the kia...

yeah, as I am reading about the Kia, I am finding the same thing
people say if your broke, the kia may be your only option, but its gonna suck lol

You can get a cobalt for 12/13k. I wouldn't exactly say thats expensive. Then take away some for your GMS pricing. And hell, if you need too, buy an extended warranty.

Heres my question though, does she drive a lot? If not leasing may be for her - then when her lease is up she can either choose to buy it or go back and get another new one with another warranty.
