Anyone work for verizon wireless or in with cellphones comapny? help

Ok well I got a new Kyocera 7135 its been on the market a few years, but its a smart phone for those who aren't sure what that is it basically a phone and palm pilot in one. well I get the phone its verzion phone. I go down 2 the store today and they say it's valid phone but verizon doesn't want to activate anymore because giving the network trouble or some jazz. I unno it seem sorta fishy to me like they want me to buy a phone from them instead of online. even though I told them it was a gift from a relative. What you guys think or if any of you work for verizon wireless try and find out for me thanks.

If you have a verizon account already you can do it online. You just need to take the battery out and swap Phone ID numbers just like a VIN number on a car. That's something verizon offers to their customers.
