I'm no expert and don't claim to be but my understanding is that it is all pretty much the same crap.

Like shared pipelines, and oil tankers.

I have never once noticed a differnece in brand of gas. I use whatever is most convenient, I stay away from shell a little bit but that is just half pyschological since shell had a whole tanker of bad gas, that ****ed up Fuel sending units in hundreds maybe thousands of cars. ****ed up my girlfriends car.

Every gas company has their own additives they add to the fuel. So saying it's all the same is rediculous. It might be all the same to an everyday user but for a car enthusiast like most of us it makes a difference. I prefer not to mix those additives in my car, I only run BP/Amoco fuel.

I consider myself an "enthusiast" and I have run problaby every brand shape and form of gas avalible to me, and had no real gains except with running 93 instead of 87 before I go to the track.

And thats likely a placebo effect.

Top Tier Gasoline suppliers are certified to have a better detergent package than the other manufactuers = less deposits and buildup. I buy from any of them. Usually Chevron though..

It really makes a difference to those of us who commute to work everyday. Believe me, I notice when my car is getting 100 miles to the tank less from cheap gas. It costs me $$$$ and lots of it. I easily spend $26 to fill up every 4 days. Does anyone know if they did away with the "oxygenated fuel" or are they still using it??? (maybe that had something to do with the poor gas mileage I was getting)...

BTW, I put Shell gas in the other night and have already gone 50 miles and it looks like my gas needle didn't even move. (paid 2.05 a gallon, but that's the average around here.)
