  • Who's had the pleasure of working on a Jeep 4.0L?

So I recently bought a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo for winter knowing it had a serious oil blowby problem. Being adventerous, I pulled off the valve cover to clean out the crap blocking the Crankcase Ventalation valve system. In the process I ended up destroying the gaskets that were on the snorkels
( pic for reference, not mine http://www.off-road.com/jeep/cheroke...es/cover5.jpg)

Does anyone know if I'll be able to buy new gaskets for these, or will I have to mess with RTV sealant? I've never had any luck with that crap.

I also managed to break the CCV valve. For anyone that's tried to deal with the blowby problem, does a new CCV valve come with part# 4762592, or is it just the grommet and tube? It doesn't seem like I can just pick up a new ccv valve anywhere.

On to how to get the valve cover back...
I bought a new FelPro cork gasket for it. Should it be easy as just putting the new gasket down, putting the cover back on, and tightening the bolts down? God I hope so.

On top of this crap being so damn annoying, it's 30 degrees outside with a chance of snow fulrries.
