If you can't afford it, you don't do it. Street racing is illegal. Deal with it.

As far as destroying the cars go, GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! I 'll bet that person won't street race ever again.

Destorying cars is just bull ****. There's nothing wrong with racing in a secluded area, the only ones who are at risk are the drivers, who knowingly accept the risk by racing. How is it that you can drink and drive and still get your car back, but race and it's smashed?! **** that. Dumb *** people who make these stupid laws.

</font>
oh I can afford it, I just refuse it.
Paying 45 ****in dollars to go down an eigth mile is ****in rediculous.

Just think about it..
$10 cover charge ... then you have enough for 3.5 lap dances. 3 lap dances to race! Come on now.

Aside from the costs of racing, destroying cars is still rediculous. I can understand taking them for a certain amount of time, but not DESTROYING them completely. That is just insane.

</font>
Again, why is it that they don't destroy cars impounded during drug raids, hooker stings, and DUI checkpoints?

This is EXTREMELY short sighted. You are destroying a perfectly good vechicle. Part out the car, rip out the engine, do what you have to, but to destroy the entire car is wastefull. Draglites could be resold and given to a drag racing team. The cars could be repainted and used as DARE cars.

This is a knee-jerk to a new "epedemic". Coincidence that it happened in an election year? I think not.

I think theres a difference in street racing all the way up to 140+ mph and only racing from a street light up to like 60 mph...I personally race when a car comes up next to me but I dont race all the way up to my gov. Destroying the cars is just craziness I think all you who agree with it would think different too if you were in that position...next thing you know they wont sell any kind of performance parts to the public, they will only sell to registered drag racers....if they do that they might as well as give everyone a big pile of crap electric car...

wait I will still race that thing...mmmm YAY im pushing 900 horses...I mean VOLTS wanna race?

Most deadly crashes are due to

1.) drunk drivers
2.) people not paying attention

Rarley is there a deadly crash because of two people racing.

Any type of driving is dangerous.

Irvine has more AMG Mercedes' than the whole world (not really, but probably close).
I could race one of those guys and they wouldn't even know, and STILL beat me! My car is painfully slow compared to theirs. So how is my "racing" and their normal acceleration any different? Just because I'm giving it more throttle? He's still accelerating faster than I am.

To stop this crap, mabey Cali needs some strips. PA should do the same. Mabey that'll ease up on some street racing. THats BS that they destroy the cars though.

You didn't answer my question.
I asked you to define "racing" in the situation I proposed and you only come back with "racing is racing". That is not a legitimate definition.

My nearest drag strip is a good 45 min away at Summer Duck VA. Its a wimpy 1/8th of a mile. 6 bucks to watch + 6 to run. So its 12 bucks to run all night. I hardly ever race anymore. Only a few people actually try to race me. Damn turboed Imprezas *wrx*. If i get a light beside someone in a 4 lane highway im taking it. I will never race unless it is in a straight line tho on the street. I to think it is bull **** to destroy those cars. If the highway is safe enough for a flagman to do the races most likely that road sees no traffic. If they were street racing cutting through traffic and such i could see them getting there cars tooken away.
