What'cha guy think of this Fiero?

I'm going to go check out today. I spoke the owner already. He said the car runs fine. There are some exterior and interior cosmetic damage to it.

He mentioned that the car tends to overheat. He said a new catalytic converter would fix it. I just went huh?

But anyway, other than the exterior and interior damage which I'm not worried about, what should I look for?

Wow, 900 bucks. I think they are neat lookin little cars. Prob fun too. How are these things on gas mileage, and how do you think they go through snow??? I may be looking at one too. :p

Buy it.... then track down Mccanda (let me know if you need his contact info). He's in CA too and did the 3.8 SSEi SC motor swap. His car looks nice!

Plus.. it's cheap!! $900... I just spent more on my computer!!!

If the body is sound and straight then buy it.

Drop a GTP motor in it and you will smile ear to ear :)

Yes the car looks awesome. The body is good and straight, no damage at all. Only one spot of discoloration and that's it.

Most of the problem is with the engine. The Transaxle is good. The exhaust & cat needs to be changed. The idler motor, MAF, temp. and oxygen sensor needs to be changed. Injectors are dirty. The engine rev at 2400 at idle and then stalls when trying to move the car.

But nothing major. Everything is fixable. I will definately drop a GTP motor someday. But for now I will stick with the 2.8. But once the car is warmed up it's drivable. I'm still going to have it towed though.

By the way, he dropped the price for me to $750. I'm going to for it.:)

My sister had one of those for her first car from her father, I was a total POS. I was too young to know what was going on with it but good luck.

My 6'5" 300 lbs *** racing in a fiero... LOL and yes I was very very very very very very lucky it had a sunroof that I coudl pull out.

this is where you find out how bad they are.... they will take up ALL your time im am sorry they are nice cars but they break like no other!!! and any year before the 86 sucked srry my best friend has 4. 2 with 2.8 in them, 1 with a 3.1, and the last with the l67 s/c swap. they break period.
