So Jr. High Student came to class dressed as Hitler for Halloween...

...and got suspended.

This happened close to my town. It's an upper middle class place with some Jewish residence.

The boy is Jewish and fully understand history of his culture. His parents are Jewish and approves of him dressing up as Adolf Hitler for Halloween in his school.

The teacher immediately sent him to the principles office and got kicked out. His classmates threatened to beat him up.

What's your take on this.

Personally, its kind of funny. I wouldn't worry about his classmates beating him up. He has the SS!

Huh, thats kind of interesting.

The school technically has the right to kick him out, but whether or not they should of depends on what other costumes they let go by in the school. I guess some Catholics could find demons/magic things, offensive.......

I don't know though, doesn't offend me, but I'm not Jewish.

Im not one for the suppression of the freedom of speech, but he got what he deserved. I would have been pissed to see that, seeing as I have a Jewish gf, and members of my family escaping german control during the Nazi takeover of Poland. Its just not in real good taste at all.

Here's the way I'm looking at it... I think it would be the same as a Christian dressing like the devil. I don't think the school should have sent him home. It would be a "distraction" in class, but wouldn't anyone in a Halloween costume be a distraction?

I agree, I could see it being an issue if others didn't dress up. Was there anyone dressed up as Bush? I bet that was destracting to all the democratic kids, lol. Did you guys see the lawyer that dressed up as Osama withthe fake gun walking on the highway?

But it's not the same. The devil is a mythical character. Hilter killed MILLIONS of people. You can't celebrate Hilter - it's just not right. :spank: BTW, he got the idea from South Park.

Personally I think its funny.

He did it to get a rise out of people and it worked. my coworker wore a shirt to work that said "the bible is bulls***". he knows i follow the bible and calls me a bible banger but i know its all in fun and i got a good laugh out of his shirt, but the boss did make him turn his shirt inside out.

I saw a costume of Kangis Kon (misspelled). That guy was more brutal than Hitler because he did the work himself.

We let a lot of things slip by with a chuckle but when it comes matters like the Jews we get very sensitive.

Don't forget Jews have slain many Christian in the early period.
