What the hell is the point of making a carbon copy firebird with just a different body? Im all for the new Goat and Camaro combo. Id rather there was two types of muscle cars to choose from. Each can have different options and offer there own unique things rather then just looking different.

For the record, I like the look of Firebirds in general better then Comeros. That is all... :)

It may not be the original... but its based off the original design and improved upon.
I'm sure if they made a New GN, it would be better in all areas than the old "real" GN, except originality

i was watching the rolex 24 at daytona and they talked to a pontiac rep. and was talking about the new gxp line and they changed the gto for a gxp g6 why u ask? well they are no longer making gto's...firebird still in the air? i think by 2009 we'll here that pontiac is gonna announce a firebird with the camaro:banana:

I say there shoudl be an upgraded v6 option... like say they have a v6, then there is some sort of motor like the supercharged L32 in other cars as well, put it in a fully optioned v6.

I mean I think the supercharged L36 woudl fit easily in an f-body, if they just built a special adapter that 180* turns for the Throttle body.


Just an idea, use up all the off the shelf GM parts :)

I think what he means is that there was such a departure (length of time) between the old GTO and the new one (or in this case new GN and old one)... not to mention the fact that the original GTO was an american car... and the new goat is .. well austrailian.

It would be cool tho to see a buick version of the new GTP (with rwd) called the Grand National.

not sure what youre reading but the gto IS coming back. also the solstice gxp will be packing a turbo 4 banger. the next gen grand prix is looking promising with a 380ish hp motor and rwd. the gto was discontinued because the are changing the platform on which its being built. it will probably be back the year after the camaro. the bird is all but dead until something OFFICAL comes from gm itself. until then its all a bunch of hearsay and rumors. id love to see it come back as much as any other bird owner but the reality is that its not going to happen anytime soon. pontiac is converting all their cars to rwd very soon, so there are plenty of options as far as rwd performance cars coming from them in the way of gtp/gxp trims.

who in the hell wants to drive a fuking grand prix though? i sure as hell dont no matter what it looks like or how much hp it has i hate cars like that with high hp its useless in a car like that when its a fuking 4 door sedan pontiac NEEDS a f-body to compete with camaro and mustang and grand prix's and g6's isnt gonna do it if your gonna drive a gas gusling v8 why not be a f-body type car with a suspension package and the whole kit if pontiac cant do that then they suck IMO
