My carbed V8 swap has begun. Got a 307 out of a 69 chevelle. Disassembled it and its in REALLY good condition. Since the 307 has the same bore as a 283 im going to get a rebuild kit for an 283 with 3.935 pistons and chevy switched to 2.44 inch main journals in 68 i can use a 3.75 inch stroke crank. With all the math that adds up to 365 cubes! Woot. I'll keep this updated.

The engines were fine, until you had to replace ANY, and I mean ANY, part on it. They actually came in the 1st gen Camaros I believe in 69 or so. People had problems left and right with them, even more so than the engine in my Monte. Discontinued after a short run.

They had 350's, 396's and 302's for the 1st Gens. 307 was a replacment for the 283 using its bore but a 327 crank and it had all the same main journal sizes as a 350 and everything. 383 stroker crank is going in there with some forged slugs, H-beam rods, bored .060 over, ect. Not sure on the mileage but its a good block.
