  • Ever high centered your car?

I was taking a couple girls home earlier today, and got to the house that was below the street level, so the driveway went up and then down. I wasn't about to attempt to get all the way in the driveway because of this, but I tried to get a little closer for them since it was pouring. I took it at a 45* angle and was going really slow. I started hearing the grinding and I thought "crap." they got out and i put it in reverse and gave it just a little gas, but the car didn't move, slowly gave it more and more until the tires broke loose and i finally got off the driveway.

No damage done, when i straight piped my cat, i used exhaust clamps and the screws protrude below the car about an inch and a half. One of the screws it really bent up now but other than that all is well.

btw, i'm at stock height, and lowering it is on the list of to dos...

I made a wrong turn onto a 4wd train instead of a drive way, hit some monster bumps and got suck...one of the bumps caught the DS and stalled the motor. So I started it back up put her in reverse and worked the clutch till she came out lol. you could hear that little 3.4 2 blocks away. cause thats where the guy was waiting for me...said he heard it HAHA

Re: Ever high centered your car?

That's why I can't lower my car anymore. There are so many driveways around here enginereed with that bump at the top and the streets just suck.

NJ is the worst for lowered cars...or streets might as well be cobblestone.

There are definitely a lot of driveways like this. Is there any benefits from it? Seems like just a retarded design, yet it's showing up more and more. No car i can think of can make it in to some peoples driveways, only suv/trucks..
