I took my firebird to the track 2 times since i bought it about 2 months ago and my times were a bit disappointing, heres my best E.T. : this was on a cloudy high humidity day and it rained out the event, but my engine temp. was around 150 after i let it sit an hour.

R/T .653
60' 2.402
330 6.744
1/8 10.319
MPH 69.19
1000 13.362
1/4 15.932
MPH 87.20

And my best MPH run:

R/T .666 (hmmmm)
60' 2.495
330 6.874
1/8 10.461
MPH 69.16
1000 13.502
1/4 16.057
MPH 88.13

I'm guessing the gears are the only thing keeping me out of the low 15s. Anybody have any help on how I can lowere my 60' times, I power block it to around 2k rpm (as high as it will stall) and let loose when the last yellow light flashes. I did notice I ran better times when I left it in Drive, I had one run when i left it in 2nd and it hit the rev limiter right before i crossed the line and screwed up my time and mph.

Hey Formula what do you stall your car to at the line? I used to have 60ft like yours and I was stalling in the range of 1600-1800. After trying many different RPM launches at the track I have found for me at least the best seems to be stalling at about 1400-1500. I mean I have a 1997 Camaro with 3.08's and I have cut 2.2x 60ft and that's in the summer. My car really picks up when the weather is perfect. Now about you times the gears like you said are what's stopping a low 15sec run. I have had a best of only the 15.86 that is in my signature. But that was last winter. This summer (with new launch RPM) I have had a best of 15.89@85.50mph and a 2.28 60ft. I can't wait to see what I can run this winter.

Can't wait to get teh 3.42's and LSD

I've been stalling it at 1800-2000 and went down the road today and did 1500 and it felt a lot stronger.

My plans for this car are as follows:

Body- Wings West ground effects and firehawk hood and spoiler. 17" deep dish 5 star chrome wheels. White firehawk stripes, white SLP sticker where it says Firebird now, and tailight covers.

Drivetrain- NX wet 100 shot n2o, full exhaust, safc, 3.73 gears, LSD, then eventually cam, heads, etc...

Give me a couple years :D I still have to drive to college everyday.
