I wonder what the specs are on his converter.

At any rate, it is a little hard to believe he got a 14.3 with the mods he listed. He didn't forget to mention a 50 shot did he?

i dont know...i think it could be done, Norwalk is definately a bad *** track and its very possible he got a TC that fits his combination perfect, the right torque converter will make a car haul a$$...i say it is believable but i need to see a slip and a video...

aluminum flywheel = bogus mod, our flywheels balance our engines externally and you don't want to change the internal balance of the engine... I seriously doubt he has this.

All his other mods add up to maybe a 14.5-14.9, and no he wouldn't spank an LT1.

Maybe he stripped his car down to 2800lbs?

His 60', if driven right the rest of the track, would put him in the 13's.

That would be unreal if that was a true story. I just have a hard time believing that an intake, exhaust, shift kit and TC will put him in the low 14's. The horsepower just isn't there.

I usually don't throw up the BS flag, but without internal engine work, that 14.3 is

tru I was thinking more along the lines of a V8. I didn't take into consideration the loss top end.

I asked him what kind of exhaust he's running, here's the reply :D

I have Y87 exhaust. It's an I-pipe running to one muffler with two outlets looks like a Y. Two manifolds, one cat, one muffler, two outlets, four tips. It came stock on the Y87 performance package. I don't worry too much about exhaust, it's a lot of money for small gains. Also I don't want to lose any more low end torque, I like to launch right off the line fast rather than have a high top speed. That's the trade off with a more open exhaust like duals. You lose backpressure and trade torque for horsepower, like trading acceleration for top speed.

He sounds like one smart nut :D Maybe we all should run the Y87 stock exhaust huh?

I THOUGHT HE SAID HE HAD A CUTOUT BEFORE THE CAT?

Read all the way to the bottom of that post. He says he's running nitrous.

What? He says he's running NA then he says he has nitrous? That's totally misleading. I can believe the 14.3 on nitrous. In fact, if he does have nitrous thats a little slow!!
That exhaust thing is BS. You don't lose low end torque with just a performance muffler. You've got to at least have free-flowing exhaust to lose a measurable amount of low-end torque.

Why do you bother? Anyway, the guy is "one smart nut" for suggesting stock exhaust is better!

You guys are flaming him and I don?t think you even read the post.

I am all for raising the B.S. flag but???

He never said his time was NA, the jackass? on that board did.

Nitrous isn?t in his SIG, but there are a lot of guys on this board that do not have any or all of their mods in the sig.

If you read the post about the trans, it will become painfully obvious to the casual observer that he was ASKING FOR INFO ON IT, he also got it. You have to manually shift the trans or it wont shift so??..I can see where it could have been viewed as a ?shift kit that turned his auto to a manual? he was just asking, at first I though it he was talking about a torque tube.

This guy got flamed for saying he kept the stock manifolds for low-end torque. I know for a V8 you can pick between headers that will give you high end HP or Low end torque. Do we have that option with a V6 or are top end headers all that is available? The whole cut out thing did through me off a little but maybe the cost of headers just wasn?t worth it to him for the little extra top end at the track??

You guys are acting like a 14.3 cant be done because some dong says he claims it was NA. The page this link takes me to doesn?t have him saying that it was NA anywhere.

96v6beast doesn?t list heads/cam in his mods, and he has a 14.23 on the bottle.

He may be and probably is as full of crap, that doesn?t mean he didn?t run a 14.3 on the bottle, or that his car wont run a 14.3.
I have made a lot of money in my life, most of which I spent on cars and women.<p>The rest I have blown.
