I just used a 5/16" spacer on the front. On the back I had to grind. I definately wouldn't grind the fronts. The front calipers recieve ALOT of stress when you brake, especially after a 1/4 mile pass. Grinding it WILL weaken the caliper. I've even known a guy that had the back calipers to break (twice!) after grinding ... of course he was trapping at 132mph.

If you must grind: I did my rear calipers by first spraypainting the caliper, then putting the wheel on and turning it. Then take the wheel off and see where it scraped the paint off. Continue until the wheel no longer scrapes away ANY paint, then go over all of it once more for good measure.

Sorry about that guys.. even though this is a pretty old post, I put LS1 in the thread title to avoid anymore confusion...

BTW: looking to beat that time next sat with 27" mickey's on 15" rims, a shortbelt, and a little bit of weight reduction.

I wonder what my car will run with these mods? Stock I ran 13.4's (very hot out)

With some DR's and a new rear I am hoping low low 11's. With the stock rear, DS, and clutch, maybe 11.5's?

Biffy...out of curiosity..what # is your SS? And what color is it?

Hint: Check out other V8 message boards and look at someones sig. Copy and paste their info here. You want to make sure they don't post too much though, otherwise it will be obvious you took their info. Now go!
