Go to the two grand national videos. I think they are 3.8s well at least they sound like them. r they twin turbo?

what are the tq and hp gains from a turbo can low ans high rpms. would it be possible to put a torqy cam with a turbo or ??? tell me a little about v6 fbody cams and turbo cams please. thanks

Why do these guys do this good all the time, or are grand national as light as a go cart.
i just watched another video and this guy with twin turbos on his v6 produced 1036 rwhp. whats the highes we can go if these are the same engines. or is it just that noone has really tried with our cars

Its not the same v6... thats the problem that is a 3.8L series I and we have a series II
Best way to do that in my opinion is put a GN motor in your car...
Guy that bought my old 3.4L car... just fixed everything up, got it repainted, replaced interior and has a 600ish hp GN that he is going to swap in, he is looking for a drivetrain at the moment.
It doesn't take 500hp to pull the wheels. I've seen it done by cars under 400rwhp. It takes a certain suspension setup. But if you wanna go faster, pulling the wheels shouldn't be your goal. While it looks cool, and people love seeing it, it doesn't always mean you are running your best time.

Iknow its not an all power thing, but for an average 4th gen... I guesstimated the 500-600 hp...
I know you can lift the wheels, but the videos I have seen of v6ers were nothing like that...
James is right it is about weight trnasfer and suspension...
my reccomendations if you are not going to do it the hp route...
rip as much weight off your nose...

thats not a v6 its a Duttweiler SBC Rocket Block 390ci

it really does nto take tons to get teh front tires off the ground. figure you need to be cutting like a 1.60 or better 60ft time and you can get it done regularly. in all actuality with a 4th gen V6 that is prolly possible with 300-325 at the wheels, some sensible weight reduction, the right convertor/clutch dump, and basic suspension bolt ons.
the turbo will produce plenty of power to get the fronts in the air. relocate the battery and run some 3.73's. pick a convertor th twill hit right aroudn your torque peak, maybe a few hundred rpm before it so it pulls through peak torque as you launch.
front suspension can be jsut dropping the front sway, drag shocks woudl help but are not entirely needed.
rear suspension is gonan be important. 50/50 drag shocks, adjustable control arms, control arm relo brackets, and a good torque arm.
you won't need huge tires. your car is already fairly light, and with the front suspension free of the sway bar it will be easy to transfer weight onto the rear tires. if you got a 26x9.5 or 26x10.5 DOT slick(hoosier quick time pro's rule!) you will have all the grip you need.
i suggest a line lock and sub frame connectors to help make the car live through the experience repeatedly [img]smile.gif[/img]
