Anybody have any tips to run a better time? Tire psi, quick weight reduction, unfilled tank and things along that line?

fron tires atleast 45, back around 28-30

lose the spare tire and jack. ditch the seats cause they come out quickly. ditch the acc. belt if you want. you can get a siphon from walmart or whatever for like 10 dollars and damn near drain your tank into a gas can.

How do you take out the seats?

I heard uninstalling them was difficult...

its like 4 nuts and a connector from the wiring harness if your running power seats.

The rear seat back weighs 13 pounds. I'm not sure about the passenger seat but I'd imagine it's less than 25 unless you've got power, which was an 8 pound addition. Every little bit helps I guess, but that's only about a .04 difference in time.

if you're running street tires make sure to avoid the water box..and dont burn out..burn outs are for drag tires only..just give them a quick spin before pulling up to the line

I run street tires... So I shouldn't burn out at all before my run?

Street tires are designed to grip in normal outdoor temperature ranges, especially all-season tires. Drag radials and slicks use compounds that are designed to grip at hotter temps. When "cold" they don't have the same amount of bite, thus you have to heat them up by doing a burnout before each run.

^precisely..so thats correct..no burnout..just give them a quick snap before you pull up to the line to clean them off..check the pressure in between runs too..as out door temp changes so does your tire pressure

Check the threads w/ "!" in them.

Street tires.... drive around the water box, quick stab of throttle to clean them off and then go race.

I'd suggest 28 psi in the rear and 45 in the front.

Keep the hood open in between rounds to cool down the engine

whats the best RPM to launch at without too much spinning? i usually have mine around 2-2.5. that sound about right?

the most you can get without spin..some cars prefer to have the converter flashed

I launch around 3500ish, someties little higher sometimes a little lower depending how the car is biting.

also I keep the rears at 32-34 psi, and work them down, see if the edges are hitting the ground or not, and adjust. But most street tires work best for me 30-34 psi.
