I am rebuilding a 3.4L and I put a Crane cam and trimmings in it. Problem is that the Crane springs are larger in diameter than stock and the stock valve covers will not fit right.

Those are the same ones. Edelcrotch only makes 1 style for the 2.8/3.1/3.4 engines. Might try doubling up on the gaskets, just make sure they are gooped together good before putting on engine.1978 Formula 461 in progress of being built

Did you catch the argument on the general board about 3.4 vs 3800? Someone posted asking if it was possible to make a 34 put out 200 hp or more and it turned into a nasty little debate. fyi, the valve covers I am buying on ebay are different than the ones manufactured by edelbrock. They are 3 3/4" deep while the edelbrock ones are 2 3/4" deep.
