what all is involved in a 3rd gen 3.8 swap? i was thinking if i could do it pretty easy my stroker will have a new home. so i wouldnt have to always drive it. is there a list somewhere for a 82-92 3.8l swap? thanks

or hit up nate aka 3.4slo to go, hes the third gen motor swapper around here, he's swapped in a 3.1, 3.4 and had the 3.8 in his bird but had some problems with i think the bcm.

no, I'd be a motor whore if I included the 3.1 in there somewhere....... maybe if the 305 doesn't work.....
but anyway I digress. The main issue I had w/my swap was the fuel enable signal. pcm stopped accepting the vats/passkey bypass so if you have a pcm w/that programmed out you're golden. I couldn't afford the hptuners/DHP programmers at the time but I did have the the car running & turned it around a couple of times on it's own power for garage work. The tubular manifolds stick out really close to the rear a-arm hinge point. I don;t know how far headers stick out from the block, but may want to lok into it, otherwise use the log style manifolds. You will need to have motor mount brackets made [cheap plug]or buy mine[/cheap plug] as the 4th gen ones are way too big (see my cardomain site for pics on the swap) also, here are some pics of when the engien was in, before I put the icm/coil paks on the lip right above the rear of teh upper intake: http://www.camarov6.com/ubb/ultimate...=006237#0000001978 Formula 461 in progress of being built :rock:
