www.supersixmotorsports.com

    www.grandprixstore.com

    Or

    CompCams

Do a search before you buy so you can find a cam that will better suit your needs.

Most high lift cam's require stiff valve springs.

Thanks man. By the way do you know how much hp I would get by doing this?

The cam from grandprixstore.com says it will gain 24hp. Thats what they told me in email. I have heard somebody say that the supersix grind will give about 20, although I dont think anyone really has a proven dyno graph to back this up.

I have one last question that is bugging me, does the cam make the car sound any deeper through out the rpm range?

Do you plan on upgrading valve springs? Or do you want to keep the current stock valve springs? Is it a daily driver? or is it going to be your track car?

I have only heard one sound clip of cam'd 3.8. It soundy kinda choppy at idle, sounded deep but cant compare because I never heard it before the cam. I will let you know when my project is done.

with stock valve springs your not going to get much lift out of the cam.

But most definatly call Tom at Supersixmotorsports.com He can do a custom grind and will also help you pick the cam that is good for you. They do great work, I can vouch for that. I just ordered a pair of heads from him. There are alot of guys here on the boards that like the work he does also. So get in touch with him.

Thanks. I would upgrage my valve springs if I knew how much it would probally set me back. By the way I do need some headers. Holy crap I just noticed that they are like 20-30 miles from my HOUSE. That's kool.

20-30 miles away, Wow your lucky. Maybe you can talk them into installing it for you for a good price too. Talk to Tom about upgrading valve springs, see what he reccomends.

I had a before and after dyno of my cam install. It also included ported intakes (which I don't think is worth a lot with stock heads) My gain with tuning from the MAFT+ was 25hp at the wheels. I think the SSM cam with .450 total lift is a good increase especially if you want to run stock springs. And it performs superb with nitrous. Here is a link to the dyno:
