  • Paging Stefan or anyone with GTP rebuild experience

Hey man, I saw your Virus site, and I noticed you rebuilt your engine with GTP internals which was what I am planning to do to go with higher boost. I saw that you said the differences between the L67 and L36 we pistons, rods, rings, crankshaft, etc.. I noticed you parts list only include pistons, rods, rings, and bearings. Did you have to buy a crankshaft, or anything else to get it all to work? I also tried to look at the machine shop receipt, but it didnt come up. What is the average cost of polishing and hardening engine internals. Thx. If anyone wants to throw in their experiences, please be more than welcome. Im trying to go all out on this 3.8 of mine.

The crank is the same, just the rods and pistons aren't interchangeable between the two engines.

Yep, only the pistons and rods are different. When I shattered a piston we put in JE L67 pistons/rods. They work perfect with the L36 crank.

Pistons and rods ran me approx. $1200. Oh, and JE is NOT very customer focused....
