Slacker, how did you collapse ALL 12 lifters?

I'm thinking lifters or valve guides now.

            Update...

I'm really thinking lifters. I'm gonna tear down the top half of the engine once again. This will probably the the sixth time I've done this. I could do it blindfolded.

I hope that it is in fact a lifter and my problems will finally be solved.

Pulled the intakes, rocker arms, pushrods and lifters.. HUGE thanks to Zach, I really appreciate it man..

5 lifters compressed EVERY easily.. A few of which I could compress the plunger all the way down. ALl the rest were SOLID STIFF!!

The car was run about 6 hours earlier to drain the fuel from the system to the lifters should have been pumped up.

I have them soaking in oil now, they've been soaking over night... I'll check them soon and see what the results are.. Chances are I'll be shelling out another $160 for a set of 8 lifters. THey sell them in 8 (GM) and I'll just have to pick 4 which I think are good.

Just checked them.. after they soaked over night..

3 of the plungers I still could compress with my own hand/palm power using a stock pushrod.

I have them all sitting on a piece of wood now and will check the batch of good ones to see which bleed down.

A set of 8 lifters is about 160 through GMPartsdirect.. no way I'm ordering 2 sets, I have 12 lifters. Chances are I'll order 8 and then pick 4 from the set that don't bleed down.

have you ever checked to see if the valve springs are binding?? this post could be a little late cuz i didnt read the whole thread, but i know of some big name companies that send out stuff that doesnt work together...Esslinger, they specialize in 4 cylinder Fords for circle track...the valves springs they send you with their cam kits bind w/the use of the bigger cam,

                            4 bad lifters...

New set should be here early next week... Should have it back together say wednesday.. Might be racing saturday with 4.10's..

Right now it's just collecting dust in the garage like it usually does.
