• Comp is not out of cores.

I have heard lots of rumor's of compcams being out of cores and im sure you guys have too. I ordered my cam about a week and a half ago and comp has already shipped it out. They shipped it out on the 3rd of this month. I checked UPS tracking and it should be here tommarow. Just thought I would share.

Hey man I was wondering if you could post a number or website or something where I could order a Compcam from. I'm finally ready to buy a cam, after much thought, Dominic's help and savings. Thanks a lot.

So have you received your cam yet? Are you going to go hit up the track and let us know what you ran after this? Any info would be great since It'll be a couple of weeks before my cam is in, thanks for the help. I'll call Tom next week.

I checked my UPS tracking # and the cam is supposed to be delivered any time today. I will indeed get you track numbers. I ran a 15.0 before, But its not just a cam on the new times. It will be heads/cam, headers, Y pipe and high flow cat.

I have the same Cam Magnus has. He seen a .7 improvement from heads/cam. I will let you all know for sure. Currently I am waiting on head gasket kit. Soon as that gets here I will get started, probly be 2 weeks or so before car is running.

Where do you see this???
He ran a 14.0 on stock heads/cam with perfect tuning, a good converter and weight reduction.
After the heads/cam he ran 13.8 on not so good tuning.

What is good tuning? I'll only be using MAFT, not the plus version to tune. Is that bad?

Also, now that Comp isn't out of cores, I might consider buying from them instead of getting a regrind. Are there any advantages to getting a regrind instead of a Comp Cam?

I believe you want to use the MAFT+ because of another feature it has, although i can't remember it offhand, but it helps significantly. You'd need to ask Keith about good tuning, i am still learning all of that.

Regrinds aren't as good because the lobes can sometimes be off, due to differences in cam wear and other factors. So a core is best because it will tend to be more exact with its specs.

yeah you want to use the maft+ cause u can advance timing on there. Also when i called comp cams on last wends they told me they were out of cams they just ran out. So unless they just got some in they are out/.

WOW! Maybe I was lucky then. I must have gotten one of the last ones.
