  • need help w/ cam and rocker arms!!

    well with this years tax return i am planning on purchasing a gt cam from zzp and i want to do my rocker arms, valve springs and pushrods at the same time. I'm thinking about purchasing the INTENSE™ First Generation Rocker Arm & High Performance Pushrod Kits from intense-racing.com .
    These are 1.75 rocker arms and i am not sure if they'll work with the gt cam . here are the cams specs:

    210°/210° at .050"
    Intake Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
    Exhaust Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)
    112 Lobe Separation

    Will these rocker arms work w/ this cam? Let me know what you think guys!

    With those rocker arms you will be up around 550 lift. they may be too much. I would suggest using the stock rocker arms. Added lift wont much more power anyways specially on stock heads. Just do the cam, springs and pushrods and you will be fine.

      .317 * 1.75 = .554 lift

      I believe you will need your valve pedistools milled if you want to run that high of lift.

          another vote for definite milling of the pedistals, probably a little more extensive CNC machining will be neccessary, over the standard mill job

            Our stock rockers are pretty nice anyways.
            No need to get better ones unless you want more lift, which you don't need w/that cam.

              stock heads will flow up to .600 lift w/o backing up or doing anything stupid, just need to mill the pedistals like everyone said...

                thanks guys, i decided i am just going to do the cam, and maybe the valvesprings.

                  you msut get the propeer springs with the cam. they are usually in a matched set that covers a few lifts. MAKE DAMN SURE YOU GET THEM!!!!!

                    gt cam can be run with stock valve train seppo has stock valave train (seppo am I wrong)
