The previous owner of my car really messed up my windshield, it hasn't bugged me before but it is starting to now.

Basically they windshield wipers they had on there scratched it up a bit, not really bad, but still noticable (entire windshield).

Also, there are these little spots on the driverside/bottom area of the window. I don't know what the hell they are really, i'll try to take a picture of it tomorrow and post it on here.

Anyway, anyone know how to fix this problem? how much does a new windshield/installation cost roughly?

That happened on my Jeep. ALWAYS be sure to clean your wiper blades every so often.

If the scratches aren't too bad then rubbing compound might help. I don't think deep scratches are repairable. For the spots on the windshield try a clay bar.

Not a great picture, but it's hard to see the spots without actually being there. You can somewhat see them in the middle of it, along with the scratches.

If you have full coverage and your deductable isn't too high you could just have it replaced. Our insurance agent told us that claims for things like chipped glass won't make your insurance rate go up.

is it the discoloration in the middle of the picture that you're talking about (greenish ones)?

the same exact thing happened to my driver side part of the windshield...i dont know what the previous owner did but its scratched just likes yours. So far i havent found anything to make the scratches go away but to replace the windshield.

Check the scratches with your fingernail. If your nail gets caught on it, then it can't be fixed easily.

If it doesn't get caught, try using a clay bar and if clay doesn't work, use a little rubbing compound, it will take the small scratches right out. In general you should treat your glass the same as you treat your paint. Wash/clay/polish/wax etc...
