Hey I was considering getting vinyl racing stripes. Does anyone know how difficult they really are to put on or should I just get the put on somewhere? There not really cheap for a few pieces of vinyl so i dont really want to screw them up. I have most of the tools i think you would need from a window tinting kit I have but I dunno. Thanks

they take time to do. it's not just like laying on a sticker. you have to soak the entire sections with soapy water that you are working on so that the decal doesn't stick until your ready for it to stick. get them in place and press them down.

just do a search this topic has been done many times before

It's a lot easier if you have a second person to help. Get something straight and plastic to help smooth down the stripes and make sure you have an exact-o knife to get out any bubbles.

I used commercial vinyl on mine (not the kind you soak and apply) which was a little more difficult to apply but well worth the effort. word to the wise start with a small section first, pre-mark with a wax pen and clean the surface well. Dont worry too much about small bubbles cause they go away after a day or two.

I've posted almost all hints/tips I could right here for the vinyl stripe application. Not hard, but time consuming.

If you want 100%, have them put on in a shop. They will do it right & you dont have to kick your self in the *** for messing it up, just my 2 cents. Have a few friends that ended up trashing them cuss they fu**ed up.

I did mine myself and it was a ***** with the wind starting to pick up. Either way, just use soapy water, use tape to mark the edges (put tape on the car and the stripe and line em up when applying)... it was the first time i did that myself and it wasnt too bad (cept the wind part). A decal shop by my house did a great job on mine, and they only charged $50. It was worth it, but I don't know if you can find someone to put them on for that cheap.
