I had posted this in general, thought I might get some help here. Thanks
I have noticed 2 problems on my '96 A4 and I am not sure if they are connected. First, when I punch it, it doesnt rev smoothly, it has a stutter as it revs up, I can feel it being kinda jerky, not smooth like it should( happens alot just from a downshift). Also, the problem I am more concerned with is sometimes when Im in 4th I will feel what can be best described as "lugging". Like when your driving a manual and your speed and rpms drop down too low for that gear. It is touchy, sometimes never happens, usually doesnt happen much, but it seems to come about more often when Im goin up hills and pressing the pedal down close to a downshift but not quite, just enough to hold speed in that gear.
It strange because sometimes it seems blurry between the stutter driving around and the "lugging" sometimes on the highway. I think that maybe the problem at highway speed could be the "stuttering" just more noticeable because its from a higher speed. I can guess some causes, but anyone have any similar problmes or advice?
