DTC P1870 Code

I recently the check in light came on in my car and i took it to advanced auto and had them plug up their ODM monitor to it and it came back with the P1870 code which indicates Transmission Spillage or a mechanical failure of the selonoid shifter, i need ideas on what i should do i have no knowledge of any of this stuff and if someone with experience could help me out i would greatly appreciate it thanks

This is a known problem with our cars. TAKE IT IN NOW, have it fixed it will be much easier on the pocket book NOW than replacing or rebuilding the trans later... there is a shift kit that is supposed to fix it but if you don't have knowledge of auto transmissions I would not even try it. just my 2 cents worth.. on the other hand I started getting this code about 4 years ago and my trans just started getting bad this year. I am planning on a trans replacement in the spring if I can find one for the right price and figure out how to get it home. :) good luck.
