Ok, who wants to take a stab at this one. Clusterlights went out last night along with the fog light switch, HVAC lights, and shifter light. I pulled open my fuse panel and low-and-behold my tailight fuse is melted and charred to panelling...its literally a mess in there (could explain the burning plastic smell I've been trying to track down for a long time now)

I tried cleaning it up a bit, and I've put in a smaller 5 amp fuse for the time being (its suppose to be a 20 amp) lights are back on and working, and I dont smell anything burning.

What would cause my fuse to melt? a faulty fuse? it looks like there may of even been a mini fire at one point, because the plastic on the few fuses around it look like a shinny black colour...

why only the one fuse though....like there was nothing left of this fuse...the plastic was totally melted, and the metal look fried...Im suprised I can even put a replacement fuse in the panel because it looks like freddy Krugger tried putting a fuse in there...its hacked to sh*t...

You sure you haven't clipped any wires or half way cut wires?

Don't think so. I have a new fuse in there (used a 5amp until I managed to get a 20)...the 5 amp blew after a day, the 20 amp has been fine since...no smell of burning so far? weird....
