Okay guys, need a little advice here. The factory head unit is giving me an error 20 when I place a CD in the player(which I have learned is a CD mechanism error). Is this a repairable problem, or am I stuck looking for a new HU? I am assuming this is the basic Delco unit, because I don't have the "Monsoon" logo on the HU...

Well I cant really give you much help here. I have heard about that error code but never got one myself. I have been through 2 CD HU's. Nothing was wrong with the first one, just had to buy one that would controll the cd changer. Also just because you dont have "monsoon" on your HU doesnt mean you dont have it. I didnt have it on my first HU either but I found the monsoon amp and also code UNO on the inside of my door. There is no difference between the monsoon HU and the regular one either. They can usually be picked up pretty cheap if you do need a new one. I got mine for 80 bucks. Check around on camaroz28.com or ls1.com for sale sections. Guys that upgrade their systems practically give these things away. 98 probably not i think you want the monsoon what does your old unit say monsoon or does it say delco?? if its the delco then I got what your looking for its out a 97.Comment

The unit in the car just has "Delco" on it, no "Monsoon" logo...however, I just placed a bid on Ebay for a HU, so I'll have to wait and see if I win that or not before possibly buying anything...\'98 Firebird Convertible V6Comment
