Using the stock headunit I take it? Are we talking MP3's already on a disk? Or on an Ipod or similar?

No I'm running a Clarion head unit.

I'm talking about MP3's already on a disk.

You can only play mp3's if your head unit supports mp3 playback. If it doesn't the only thing you can do is convert the mp3s to an audio cd (cda) which most cd writer programs have built into them e.g. Nero.

        Edit:
if you had an ipod or a similiar mp3 player if your head unit has an aux jack you can plug it in through there and play the mp3s that way as well.

Or buy one of those little FM stereo broadcasters if you don't have the aux jack
