anyone have any opinions on rockford fosgate head units? I am digging that red glow, I think it would go well with all the other red in my bird. what about sound quality?? I have found quite a few for some really nice prices, even cd/mp3 players but I have NEVER heard one of their head units. I know their punch amps are nice but what about head units?? how about reliability? any and all info is appreciated!

If you want red glow, check out the
Kenwood KDC V7017 I've got one on it's way and my sister's boyfriend has one, and the red looks AWESOME at night. I got one to match my dash lights as well.
So far, from what I've seen it's a kick *** head unit. I'll have a more detailed review once I get it in and play around with it.
As for the Rockford head units, I've never had any experience with them.

Rockford has some really good equipment out there, some of the better comp level HU's are Rockfords Fosgates. I have never had any experience with them personally, but I have heard them.
I was at my local stereo shop and compared the Rockfor MP3/CD unit to my beloved Eclipse 5441. I have to say that I liked the Eclipse better, but the Rockford had pretty good SQ considering.

My friend use to have a RF HU and he was never very happy with it. the 1.5 DIN alpine headunits have a dual color setup where it can be green or red. the red matches perfectly to the stock look in our cars. the downside though is that they are quite expensive.Comment

Rockford and Eclipse is very similar... he said that on the back of his Rockford HU, it says made by Eclipse.
