  • Found unused wiring from an option on my car.

I have a 97 firebird with the basic stereo option, while I was relocating my amp, I took off the driver side panel in the far back and I noticed wiring that had a plug on the end, it had about four wires on one side that where green, orange, black and some other color, and 3 or 4 to the right that where the same colors but had white strips in the middle, does anyone know what it is?? maybe a plug for the monsoon system.

I ask this so that maybe I could use the wireing to wire up my amp since for now I have to wire it up at speaker level, and I thought that maybe that was for the amp and it had the speaker level wireing already their.

The plug for the monsoon amp is on the passenger side by the spare tire. What you found is the connector for the factory cd player and the leads for the left rear speaker in the 10 speaker monsoon system, at least I think that lead comes from there. As far as using them for amp input, you could but it would be better to run from the new headunit, in my opinion.

I don't this so...I have had mine all the way apart and saw no adjustments of any kind, I did blow the dust out of mine. West Texas is extremely dusty. It is a very basic no frills amp. If anyone knows how to do this, let me know.

                    500 peak or continuous?

Jack How are those EXACT components? Do they sound great? Also, do you have Exact subs? I was going to go with Exacts at one time, but changed my mind because the store here that sells Soundstream didn't have a sampler, or even someone's system that had these speakers. I read up on the Exacts, and liked the reviews they got in stereo magazines... but I need to hear it before I buy it, and the Massive Dealer here went as far as letting me hear the subs in my trunk, and I loved what I heard. Sorry it took me so long to reply Massive, I have been traveling. I love the Exacts, I searched long and hard for front speakers. The only ones I found that sounded better were Focal. Unfortunately the price of the Focal did not justify the sound. Soundstream was the best bang for the buck. And they are really a sweet setup, the crossover is very adjustable. If you get the chance to hear them, take it, you will be pleased with them. They also have built in tweeter protection circuits...sweet. MB's were also way up on my list, but the overall quality of the Soundstreams won it. Hope that helps. :)
