• 3 SPKR BOSE???

I've had my car for about 10 months now and I just realized that there are only 3 speakers actually producing any sound in the Bose system (1995 Camaro)... what's the deal? Why those two useless holes in the rear passenger compartments.. any way to make those functional?? Thanks guys.

i have that same problem you have, it must have came from the factory like that. i think it is very stupid to set it up like that, i might put speakers in there sometime but then i have to run wire to it also.

The 3-speaker Bose system is as close as you can get to an accurate professional installation from the factory. The only downfall to that system (besides overall build quality issues) is the small size of the sub and amp.

These 6 and 10 speaker systems are horrible in almost every way. Speakers, speakers everywhere, and not an instrument to locate.

The best systems out there are VERY simple. Usually seperates or point-source up front and a sub in back. (or up front if you have the room)

Putting speakers in those "holes" in back will do nothing more than blur your stage. (I do have speakers back there, and I use them ocasionally, like when I'm crusing down the highway at 75mph and there's no chance of getting maximum SQ and I really just want some loudness)

Consider replacing the front drivers with some nice coaxials or point-source drivers and leave it at that if you don't have much money to spend. If you really want some bass, get a box, amp and line-level convertor and hook it up to the sub in back. Much more modification than that and you're getting into some serious money for adapters and a head unit and whatnot.

      Just something to consider.

Brian, thanks for the reply... very insightful. I'm looking to build a decent system in my car.... So your saying that the best way to go in our cars is subs in back and those coaxials in front?? NOTHING at all in those center holes?? THANKS!
