Long story short, my "new" 96 bird (Im new to firebirds, wanted one forever, have this one for a month) comes with a casette player. at a garage sale, picked up the cd version of the same radio (for a dollar, can you go wrong?). I swap, and everything works but the display!! omigod! I pop open the radio, and there is a little replaceable bulb behind the display. Im hoping and praying that if i get the bulb, im in good shape. anyone else have a similar problem, and, how to I get a replacement blessed bulb to try it?

I had the same problem. I looked like it was glued to the inside, not screwed in like a regular bulb. maybe your dealer can fix it, though it might not be worth the money. I just took one of my old foglights, wired it up to the yellow wire, grounded it and now i have a superbright display.

Does the CD version of the same radio, simply swap out & plug-in ? There isn't any problem with the steering wheel controls ?
