Hello all, I have been pondering the possibility of amping my stock monsoon speakers. I have a beautiful Infinity Kappa 4 channel amp sitting in my garage not doing anything so I figure this is a good way to get use out of it. So my questions are, how difficult would this be? I work at Best Buy, and he says that the speaker wire to RCA cable converter would work fine as long as I connect it to the line running to the rear hatch speakers. Also would there be a great difference in my sound quality between the stock Monsoon amp vs. the Infinity? Has anyone done this before? Thanks for your help.

It's doable, but your stock speakers will blow out in no time. You'd be better off to get a nice set of components or even regular stereo speakers to replace the factory ones. IMO

There's no need to put a separate amp on factory speakers (monsoon or other wise). A good new cd head unit will dish out plenty of power if you really want to keep factory speakers. A good amp on factory speakers will simply distort the speakers or even worse blow them. But why let that 4 channel amp go to waste when you can replace the factory speakers with high end speakers for around $200. High end polk and infinity (6 1/2" for our cars work great with amps-- huge difference (better clarity, louder, better separation of sounds). I have my 6.5" polks amplified with a 4 channel 160 watt (RMS),320 watt max amp and love it. With Polks especially though, i would highly recommend a sub (bazooka fits great in trunk)

Stereo mods: 2 sets Polk audio EX602A (i think thats the model; Panasonic 45 watt cd player; sony explode 4 channel amp for polks (40x4 RMS, 80x4 max); and 150 watt RMS- RS10-HP amplified 10" bazooka bass tube. System sounds so awesome in this car!!
Performance mods: K&N FIPK air filter, cat-back exhaust soon
