• HU Replacement

Within the next week I want to replace my stock Monsoon HU with the Pioneer AVH-P6400CD 6.5" LCD w/ CD Player and I was wondering what I would need to do make the swap. The new HU is MOSFET50 (50W x 4) so I was wondering how this could work, if it could, with the 500 watts from the Monsoon amp? I'm changing HU because the drive from Ohio to New York is long and I need to be able to watch movies and play Playstation 2 when not driving.

You should just be able to buy a wiring adapter for it, that wires up to the wires off the LCD, and then that will plug directly into the factory harness. Reason it works, is because the factory CD player outputs as 4 channels (same as aftermarket), then that runs to the factory amp, where it then outputs to the 10 speakers. Only other thing you'd need is a dash kit for it.

All you will need is a regular mounting kit for any normal deck in our car and a normal GM wiring harness. The amp will still power all the same speakers that it normally does.

I don't have part numbers for either, but any reasonable shop will have them readily available.
