i want to get a new deck but i have a monsoon system. do i have to change the amp if i get a new deck.

No. Just plug in the new wiring harness and bam, your done. But if your pocket book will allow, I would rip the whole monsoon system out and replace with ANYTHING. Anything has got to be better then monsoon. Any idea what deck you wanna get? How much you looking to spend? Enough in your wallet for the Alpine CDA-7892? ($280) -
