Monsoon Question! PLEASE HELP!

I know this has been asked like 5 million times but I couldn't find what I wanted in the others so..

I have a Monsoon 500 watt system plus a aftermarket amp and sub hooked to the monsoon HU.. I have noticed that a few of my speakers are blown!! Is there a way to change all 6 speakers and tweeters? And still using the stock HU? Or do I have to buy replacement speakers?

If I can change what are the sizes for all the speakers??

That has been asked well OVER 5 million times. That's why we made it into a FAQ thread! :D In short, use a LOC to get RCAs from the stock unit. Then make everything aftermarket from there.

I already got the RCAs and they are hooked to the amp.. Would I need more RCA's and another amp to power them?

Replace all the speakers except the far rear hatch speakers. Disconnect those completely. Power them with an aftermarket amp. Now you have an entire aftermarket system except the head unit. Lookin good! Will you need more RCAs? That depends on how you got the RCAs for the sub amp.......how?

I want my hatch speakers though!! :( So what does the stock amp do?

If you are sure you want them..... it's your car. :D Replace them with aftermarket as well. Wire them in parallel with their corresponding rear seat speaker. (Left with left etc.) This will double power output from the amp, but power two speakers. You should look into a 4-channel amp. How much money you got to spend? What does the monsoon amp do? Powers your speakers! It also includes a passive crossover network for each speaker. No biggie. Nothing an aftermarket system can't do 1,000 times better. :D

If I change the head unit would I still need the amp?

No. But any amp will deliver more power then any head unit. Alright, maybe not ANY. [img]tongue.gif[/img] All head units are measured in peak power. So that means your 50Wx4 head unit is actually only outputing like 20W RMS. You could keep the stock head unit and spend that money on an amp and give them more then 3 times the power.
