  • how many subs for my amp

ok....I got a Sony xplode (yea its crap but it works) rated at 480W @ 4ohms. I currently run a rockford fosgate 12" sub rated at 150rms. My question is first, could i stick another rockford 12er in their and run both of them off that amp. and my second question is how high can i play my sub with that amp before it blows. whenever i crank it im always worried about when to much is to much ya know? Any help would be great! thanx guys

It really all depends on what ohms the vocie coil or coils are on your subs.

But I assume if your asking this question you don't know that much about ohms.

Check out http://www.bcae1.com/ and come back if you have any more questions.

That site should really tell you everything you need to know about multiple subs.

Like they said, we need to know what impedance the voice coils on your subwoofer now is. Sounds tough maybe, but it's not. Single 4 ohm? Dual 2 ohm? Things like that. A model number on the amp would also be helpful.
