  • Exisiting Power Line

I'm about to replace the monsoon system in my 2000 camaro. I know there is the amp in the back, but I was wondering how it gets it's power? I'm hoping that it's right from the battery so that I can just take out the amp, put a distributor on the power line and run my two new amps from it.

I think I might have answered you on another forum, but just in case....

DO NOT hook up and aftermarket amp to the stock wiring!!! The power wire is far too small for any size aftermarket amp. And no, the power wire does not go directly to the battery.

        agreed x 10.

you need at least 8 gauge for 2 amps, most likely 4 or 2 or 0 gauge if the amps are decent.
