    Hi

I just wanted your help. I have a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X917 head unit with a maching cd changer. I also have 6 1/2 MB Quart's in the back and doors. Als have MB Quart 6 1/2 with 1 inch tweets in kick pannels. The doors and back are running off the head unit and the comps arent even hooked up yet. I have two questions i have are what amp sould i use for the Quart comps??? I would prefer MTX, Rockford, Kenwood. My next question is i would like to have one 12" JL W3 or Wo in the trunk but need help on a box and a kick a## amp to go along with the sub.

    Thanks for all the help

If I had to do it all over again (which I will some day if my current car will ever sell) I will go with a Rockford Punch Power series amp and a box that looks more natural, and better 12" subs.

I will recommend Rockford to you any day, I have had good luck with them, and I feel they have a really good quality product. The subs themselves are a tossup. It's a matter of what your tastes are. Other members in here will give you reviews from their experiences and you can use that information to make your decision if you so choose.

Good luck and keep us posted!

PPI, Memphis, and Xtant are all great amps for mids and highs! If you have the money, I highly recommend any of these (I loved my old Xtant). I have had good luck with MTX amps recently, I find they come quite underrated from the factory.

For the sub amp, rockford Fosgate has good products, from what I hear. I have no experience with them personally. It's mostly about power, RMS power in particular. Try and match the subs RMS to the amps RMS output, you'll get the best sound that way! There is a guy selling 12" stealth boxs with 1.1(?) cubic feet of airspace on the board somewhere. I think his name is megabass.

If you want a stealthbox for a 12" sub, you need to go over to www.camaroZ28.com or www.ls1.com on the audio forums and look for the posts on them there. You may have to beg to get one, because I hear the guy's production run is over. I might know where to get a slightly used one though. Let me know and I can check. I mostly build boxes for the rear well. Made one for v6maro recently. Anyway, hope this helps and you can check out my site at

I have the Rockford Fosgate bd1000a1 and the HX2 subs. They are bad a$$! ALL of rockford's products are underrated. The tech sheet that came with the amp bench tested at 1182RMS! I'll take an extra 182watts any day! But it depends on what your looking for. Rockford make good all around equip. But you can find just as good products without the "name". You pay for that. Any one will agree.

I would go with Rockford anyday... but I still like my Massive CW's.

My best friends car has a single Punch Power 15 in a ported box, running off an 800a2... and let me tell you, the bass is pretty intense! To the point of ear pain, and breathing problems!

The new Power HX's must be just as good as the older Power one, I'd give the 12 a looksy!

An 800a2 should be effecient to ignite this powerhouse of a sub!
