im supposed to drag tonight (if i dont get rained out)...so i was doing some practice runs yesterday (using a stopwatch and the mile markers on a dead highway tee hee hee)...using a 100 shot with the supercharger the car would sputter and die a bit towards the 2nd 1/2 of the run and i was getting times in the 15s ...but without it i was getting times in the 13s ...i think my fuel system can't handle it...i never used it that far cuz i think the f****** g-tech was judging a 1/4 mile too short...so i dropped it to a 75 shot...the car seemed to handle it fine...but i still dont think the fuel system was...cuz it wasnt really making any difference in the time...i dont have jets for anything smaller...what should i do????...try to run with it?...or should i just run without it?...help!!!

well you have a few runs to mess with, try it both ways and see how it goes. it sucks to hear that you are having problems with that right before you go out. i suggest getting a walbro 255 sometime soon to fix this issue. good luck, hope you get some decent times.

Dont go off risking your engine just for one time at the track.. make sure you work out all the bugs an everything.

Is this 100 shot a wet or dry shot?

if you dont ge it resolved.. run at the track with just the blower

i have a dry system on my car...if i upgrade the pump...should i do the injectors too, or should just the pump be enough?

and yes...it BLOWS to find this out the night before i run haha...i least i got my $100 back for that piece of sh*t g-tech ...sold that thing on ebay

AH HA! ...i think i have an idea...let me know what you think...the nitrous screws the whole thing up during the 2nd half of te 1/4 mile...when the car is really becoming fuel starved...so i think i'll inject a 75 shot during the start to really help me get up to speed fast ...then when the supercharger is boosting and kicking *** i'll shut off the nitrous during the last like...2/3 of the run so it doesnt slow me down...what do you think?

the fuel pump is enough. unless you get an hp tuner or something like it bigger injectors dont help much from what i have heard. As for the nitrous, i dont know much about that stuff. i would recomend using a 75 shot at the track if you are going to try it, 100 would possibly hurt your engine when combined with your boost and lack of fuel.

the problemm is with the dry shot, your injectors are probably maxed out when the PCM finds full boost and the injectors are already wide open from teh nitrous telling them to be.

how to fix it the night before you run? i have no clue.......

hmmm..maybe i'll do injectors too just to be safe...cant hurt.. i think im just gonna end up using a 75 shot just on the start...theres no way im going to be able to have it fixed for tonight...probably in a few weeks...im still expecting in the 13s...i ran exactly a 1/4 mile last night on a very very slight incline and was getting times in the low - mid 13s...so...im keeping my fingers crossed

I know you want to run as fast as possible at the track, but that method of 2/3 a run with nitrous sounds very inconsistent. You might want to run with just the blower to get a feel for your car and the track, and also give yourself a steady set of times to improve on throughout the nite. Then when your fuel system is up to par you'll have a bit more experience to go after the big times. With that said, my random guess for the nite... 13.82.

yeah i think i might just do that...run without nitrous...i'd really like ot just get the feel for the track ...being at the track...launches...etc...so i'll just shoot to get in the 13s..im pretty sure i'll make high 13s...but damn mid or low 13s would be NICE ..but i just dont think i have the track experience to pull that off yet...either way its still much faster than a factory Z28 so...woohoo! haha [img]smile.gif[/img]

also you do know that you need to be somewhere near 3000rpm before you juice it right? you will have problems if you spray too soon, the engine needs to build up some velocity before you push that oh so tempting shiny red candy-like button. i know i cant handle the temptation, thats why im going FI.
