best way to think of meth is like nitrous that acts as an intercooler. Meaning the spray Will only occur under full boost i believe. However unlike nitrous, the spray will create more power while reducing KR.
The meth spray cools down the inlet air temp = power.
normal intercoolers don't seem to work very well with the powerdyne bd11a. ask around for those who have tried and kept the car for very long. it has a possibility of wearing out the innner bearings on the blower from the back pressure.
problem with getting a real small pulley is the spikes. if you have a real small pulley and tune for the average psi output you could hit spikes in psi and jump up real high. that could be bad.
also, i have not heard yet on how you plan to upgrade the system in order to run 9psi or higher. you know you need to upgrade a bunch of stuff when you change to a smaller pulley, right?
the stock fuel system is already VERY maxed out at 6psi of boost.
consider that stock injectors are only 22#. GTP cars have 36# injectors. Also our stock fuel pump is supposed to be weak as pertains to fuel flow for medium to high boost. I don't know if our f-body v6 fuel pump is the same as a W body (gtp, etc) stock boosted car. I would be suprised if they are as so many people rag on the stock v6 fbody pump.
then you have to tune for all those injector changes and stuff. either way the jump from 6 psi to higher psi is expensive. if you are brave you could just upgrade the pump to aftermarket higher flow, slap on a 2.9 or 2.8 pulley and hope that the FMU will take care of everything and that your stock injectors will not overheat and lock up....BOOM!
My stock injectors with an FMU and 6psi pulley hit as high as 140%....that is not the prefered situation.
congrats on getting your car back together, BTW. good job.

yea i was running 120% injector cycle on my stock fuel system at 6 psi. but grayman, you havent been updated haha. i have a walbro 255 already, as well as bosch #36 injectors :)
my question is: why not just put a 10 psi pulley instead of a 9 psi pulley
my question is: why not just put a 10 psi pulley instead of a 9 psi pulley
grayman already answered it. theres a possibiltiy of spikes ( of boost ) which once probally wont hurt anything, but if it happened alot it could toast your motor. i really havent ever seen much info on getting spikes so im assuming its somewhat rare. do you have a boost gauge?

I plan on a 2.7. a compromise between the motor and the blower bearings. I also won't be using an air to air intercooler. that's seems to be too much back preasure...bearing wear and more belt slipping i think. i can monitor the AIT so i may also do water or water/alc injection with that smaller pulley.

with a 2.6 " pulley I was spiking to 11 psi then averaged 8 psi on the dyno. I would have 6 psi at around 3000 rpms. Still had slipping issues though. This was with the VS cam through which I think it showed 2 psi less than if it was stock since it is a blower cam.So a 2.7 or 2.8 would be good I think. Good luck

ssms5411, is that the 2.6 pulley that you left on the blower? I haven't measured it but it looked slightly smaller than my old 9psi pulley. I'm not getting those boost numbers from it yet.
I actually think the BOV that I installed might be bleeding off some of my boost. Is it typical for a BOV to vent air under vacuum (during normal driving)? Mine does this, and then I'm assuming it shuts correctly under boost and opens quickly if I let off the gas. I've never hooked up a BOV before and thought it was pretty simple, but now I'm questioning whether mine is shutting completely under boost.
